About The Position

Veolia Australia & New Zealand is seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to lead maintenance operations and ensure the optimal reliability of their state-of-the-art facility. The role involves overseeing critical systems such as dewatering, Thermal Hydrolysis, anaerobic digestion, and thermal dryer units, while promoting a proactive, safety-first maintenance culture. Veolia is a global leader in environmental services, committed to ecological transformation through sustainable water and waste management solutions, and operates in over 57 countries with approximately 6500 employees in Australia & New Zealand.

Requirements

  • Relevant trade or tertiary qualification in mechanical, electrical, or process maintenance
  • Proven leadership experience managing maintenance teams in industrial settings
  • Strong background in proactive maintenance strategies (RCM, TPM) for complex mechanical/process assets
  • Experience in water/wastewater or similar high-compliance industrial environments
  • Demonstrated ability to manage safety-critical maintenance in regulated environments
  • Proficiency with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems)
  • Full, clean NZ driver's license
  • Unwavering commitment to health and safety ("Always Safe" culture)
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive, can-do attitude
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder relationship-building abilities
  • Ability to work autonomously while coordinating team resources
  • Proficiency with Google Suite and CMMS software

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of SCADA/PLC control systems
  • Familiarity with ISO9001/ISO14001 standards
  • Willingness to participate in after-hours on-call rosters

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the daily maintenance team, assigning tasks and ensuring high-quality work completion
  • Maintain all safety-critical equipment and control systems to the highest compliance standards
  • Shift the team from reactive to proactive maintenance, preventing equipment failures before they occur
  • Coordinate routine and specialized maintenance for key facility assets
  • Manage maintenance budgets, work orders, and external contractors
  • Maintain accurate compliance records and monitor plant performance
  • Collaborate with operations teams to maximize plant availability
  • Foster continuous improvement and safety-first practices
