About The Position

The Maintenance Supervisor is a hands-on technical leader responsible for supervising the maintenance team while actively performing mechanical, electrical, and controls troubleshooting and repairs. This role ensures safe, reliable operation of production equipment and facility systems while driving preventative maintenance, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • 5+ years maintenance experience in manufacturing (preferably nutraceutical, food, or pharma)
  • 1-3 years of supervisory or team lead experience.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical troubleshooting, and industrial controls.
  • Experienced with a CMMS system and basic maintenance planning
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings and electrical schematics
  • Working knowledge of cGMP, FDA, NSF, and safety regulations.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the nutraceutical, food, or pharmaceutical industry.
  • Knowledge of Allen-Bradley PLC troubleshooting
  • Electrical certifications or technical degree in maintenance, industrial tech or engineering.
  • Experience in developing or improving preventative maintenance programs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, Train, and supervise and 6-person maintenance team across assigned shifts.
  • Participate directly in repairs, troubleshooting, and PM Tasks alongside technicians
  • Assign and prioritize work orders daily through Maintain X
  • Coach technicians to improve skill levels in mechanical, electrical, and controls work.
  • Conduct performance reviews, attendance management, and corrective actions when required.
  • Perform mechanical and electrical repairs on production equipment and packaging equipment
  • Troubleshoot PLC-controlled systems at the I/O and component level (not programming but diagnosing)
  • Repair or replace sensors, motors, gearboxes, VFDs, pneumatic systems, hydraulic components, and low-voltage controls.
  • Work on nutraceutical equipment
  • Perform routine facility maintenance including HVAC support and dust collection systems
  • Work with Maintenance Planner to ensure PM tasks are completed on schedule and with proper documentation.
  • Perform PM tasks personally when needed or when technical expertise is required.
  • Review, close, verify accuracy of workorders in the MaintainX
  • Work with Maintenance Planner to Update PM procedures, frequencies, and checklist based on equipment performance
  • Work with Maintenance Planner to ensure spare parts accuracy and support inventory management.
  • Enforce Osha, LOTO, NFPA 70E and Catalyst Nutraceutical's safety standards.
  • Ensure all maintenance workorders follows cGMP, FDA, and NSF Guidelines
  • Participate in safety meetings, and lead root cause analyses when incidents or equipment failures occur.
  • Prepare for and support regulatory audits related to maintenance and facilities.
  • Identify recurring issues and develop corrective actions to reduce unplanned downtime.
  • Lead improvement projects such as equipment upgrades, line optimizations, and efficiency improvements
  • Drive 5S, Kaizen and Lean maintenance practices throughout the maintenance team.
  • Monitor and report downtime, PM completion rate and Workorder Backlog
