About The Position

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for leading a millwright team with a focus on execution excellence, workforce development, and consistent performance. This role establishes clear standards for how work is executed, builds team capability, and drives accountability across all shifts to support a high-performing, state-of-the-art sawmill. Hampton Lumber is a family-owned company with over 80 years in the sawmill business, committed to innovation, continuous improvement, and responsible wood solutions.

Requirements

  • 5–10+ years in industrial or manufacturing environments
  • 2–5+ years leadership experience
  • Proven ability to lead teams and drive consistent execution
  • Experience developing workforce capability and improving performance
  • Strong field leadership and presence
  • Coaching and workforce development skills
  • Execution discipline and accountability
  • Performance management skills
  • Organization and prioritization skills

Responsibilities

  • Set and enforce clear expectations for work planning, execution, and completion
  • Drive daily direction setting and follow-up to ensure consistent results
  • Ensure all work is completed with quality, discipline, and full accountability
  • Eliminate variability in performance across crews and shifts
  • Lead the skills progression system for millwrights
  • Provide hands-on coaching and real-time feedback in the field
  • Assess capability and drive continuous skill advancement
  • Develop leads and future leaders within the team
  • Establish a disciplined daily execution rhythm: Clear shift priorities, End-of-shift results review
  • Hold team accountable for performance, behaviors, and outcomes
  • Address performance gaps directly and consistently
  • Ensure consistent, high-quality execution of the PM program
  • Drive strong compliance with a focus on quality and consistency
  • Reinforce attention to detail and completion standards
  • Build a culture of ownership, accountability, and pride in work
