About The Position

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for assisting the Maintenance Manager in all plant maintenance activities. This includes maintaining the physical plant through Preventative Maintenance (PM's) tasks and work order completion, ensuring lines run with minimal unscheduled downtime, determining root causes and implementing preemptive measures to reduce downtime. The role involves working with maintenance and operations teams to reduce downtime-related repair times and supervising a crew of 15 to ensure the plant meets GMP, HACCP, and USDA standards, while also ensuring the safety of employees, contractors, and customers. The supervisor will also assist with employee evaluations, training, corrective actions, workload management, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Minimum of five years maintenance experience.
  • Experience with controls, electrical, plumbing, hydraulic and air handling equipment required.
  • Thorough knowledge of food processing machinery and GMP's required.
  • Must be able to stand on concrete for up to 8 hours.
  • Must be able to bend and stoop.
  • Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Maintenance Manager in all maintenance plant activities.
  • Maintain the physical plant through Preventative Maintenance (PM's) tasks and work order completion.
  • Ensure lines run with minimal unscheduled downtime.
  • Determine root causes and implement preemptive measures to reduce downtime.
  • Work with maintenance and operations teams to reduce downtime related repair times.
  • Supervise a crew of 15 to ensure the plant meets GMP, HACCP, and USDA standards.
  • Ensure the safety of employees, contractors, and customers.
  • Assist with employee evaluations, training, corrective actions, and work load management.
  • Suggest and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Direct four shifts of maintenance teams in assuring that lines run as scheduled while achieving throughput targets, maintaining product quality parameters, and adhering to customer, USDA, EPA, DEQ, OSHA and other regulatory requirements.
  • Understand requirements and procedures for proper operation and maintenance of all machines in the plant.
  • Ensure machines are operated in accordance with specifications.
  • Train production & maintenance personnel on the use and maintenance of machines.
  • Audit & improve PM procedures and assure that all machines are properly maintained and operate as intended.
  • Determine and suggest methods, procedures and machines to improve line performance and support new required capabilities.
  • Follow Quality, Production and Safety Policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
