About The Position

The Maintenance Supervisor reports to the Maintenance Manager and is responsible for leading and developing high-performance work teams specializing in the installation, operation, and repair of machinery used in production. This role also involves managing quality performance, cost parameters, and customer service for internal customers, with a specific focus on leading the 3rd Shift team. The supervisor will assist and direct the implementation of design modifications, repair of production equipment, mechanical safety installations, and maintenance of other mechanical devices within the plant. Key responsibilities include overseeing production processes, the installation of new equipment, and the repair of mechanically functioning equipment such as boilers, air compressors, refrigeration, wastewater treatment, process equipment, and controls. The position requires cross-functional collaboration to improve organizational processes, supervision of daily operations to ensure a smooth workflow, assignment and monitoring of work progress and accuracy, and estimation of personnel needs to ensure adequate staffing. The supervisor will handle difficult inquiries, train and develop subordinate staff, schedule and approve overtime, take disciplinary actions, and resolve issues.

Requirements

  • Technical / Analytical Competence – Experience defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts and drawing valid conclusions.
  • Skilled in applying broad knowledge of principles, practices and procedures in the area of specialization.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering / Technical discipline plus 2 years of technical production / operations experience
  • Bachelor’s degree plus 3 years of military operations and leadership experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility
  • High School Diploma and 7 plus years of technical production / operations or technical maintenance experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Experience in Food Manufacturing or Industrial Maintenance Operations
  • Supervisory, communication, troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
  • Leading continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Handles unusual or difficult inquiries / situations through direct personal action or refers to the appropriate individual.
  • Responsible for training and development of subordinate staff, schedules and approves overtime, takes disciplinary actions, as necessary; addresses complaints and resolves issues.
