About The Position

Weyerhaeuser Company is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor for their Eugene, OR Engineered Wood Products facility. This role involves providing leadership for reliability and maintenance process improvements. The Maintenance Supervisor plans and leads the daily activities of a multi-craft maintenance team, focusing on safety, quality, and reliability. Responsibilities include leading team meetings and trainings, identifying safety, environmental, quality, and production issues, coordinating with production teams to maximize productivity and minimize costs, reducing waste, and proactively addressing reliability concerns. The supervisor will also lead the team by resolving employee issues, building teamwork, and ensuring adherence to site policies and procedures fairly and consistently. The base schedule is four consecutive days per week.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution
Minimum of five (5) years maintenance leadership experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
Strong business leadership skills with the ability to understand and support the site's vision, strategy, goals and targets
Experience in preventive and predictive maintenance methods
Strong work ethic, good judgment and decision-making skills
Strong mechanical knowledge of manufacturing equipment and processes
Ability to perform a root cause analysis and effectively initiate corrective/preventative actions
Demonstrated basic computer skills and proficiency in MS Office and other Windows based programs and internet skills
Demonstrated results in achieving and sustaining business goals
Excellent team building, problem solving, written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work in and lead diverse teams
Track record of consistently demonstrating collaborative and inclusive leadership skills as well as positive influence, with accomplishments in proactively influencing safety, quality, productivity and people development.
Ability to provide innovative solutions to continuously improve maintenance processes and eliminate unscheduled downtime
Ability to plan, lead and execute day-to-day maintenance activities
Must be willing to work weekends and holidays as conditions require
Ability to learn and use software associated with maintenance tracking systems
Ability to work in extreme temperatures and at heights when conditions warrant
Strong planning and organizational skills

Nice To Haves

Experience in electrical and PLC programming and/or troubleshooting
Vocational Technical training certificate
Knowledgeable Wood Products manufacturing
Experience with LEAN processes
Experience with SAP or other computerized maintenance tracking software

Responsibilities

Plan, develop, manage and provide effective leadership for the maintenance team.
Proactively identify safety issues and take measures to address concerns.
Actively supervise and develop maintenance team associates to ensure effective communication across and between shifts and with production teams.
Utilize predictive and preventive maintenance systems to reduce unscheduled downtime.
Employ reliable troubleshooting methods to ensure uptime, production volume, and quality goals are met.
Implement effective training processes to build team capacity by enhancing and building the team's technical skills.
Utilize computer-based programs to support effective prioritization of maintenance requests, manage maintenance inventory, and delegate maintenance resources.
Analyze data to ensure proper down day tasks.
Perform administrative and reporting activities.
Support the improvement of key performance indicators, continuous improvement of maintenance functions, and department budget cost effectiveness.
Develop and train associates, including coaching, mentoring, and performance management, to support a high-performance, self-directed work system.
Participate in and/or lead initiatives for capital projects and problem-solving activities as assigned.
Ensure purchasing functions follow established policies and procedures.
Facilitate team meetings and trainings.
Encourage innovation.
Lead the team by proactively resolving employee issues, building teamwork, and ensuring adherence to all applicable site policies and procedures in a fair and consistent manner.
Manage staffing, recruiting, and retaining talent.
Perform other duties as assigned.
