The Maintenance Supervisor is directly responsible for supervising and delegating work to the Maintenance group. This role ensures the facility is in compliance with all safety regulations and maintains clean, orderly work areas. The supervisor will review the maintenance budget, determine fixed asset needs with the Plant Manager, and set working hours for the department, obtaining approval from the Plant Manager. Responsibilities include tracking and maintaining electronic records for all maintenance and repairs to machines and facilities, and ensuring all processes, procedures, and documentation are ISO-compliant. The position involves providing emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performing scheduled maintenance repairs during machine service. The supervisor accepts responsibility for all aspects of the installation and maintenance of production machines and all plant equipment. This includes diagnosing problems, replacing or repairing parts, and testing and adjusting equipment. The role requires the use of various hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment. Reading and interpreting equipment manuals and work orders is essential. The supervisor must detect faulty operations and defective material, reporting unusual situations to the proper personnel. Specific technical duties include troubleshooting and repairing Allen Bradley products, programming A & B PLC, and programming IDEC touch screens. The role is responsible for the planning, installation, and repairs of all electrical components and associated wiring, including low-voltage systems. Maintaining complicated electrical and electronic systems and equipment used in various processes, such as AC/DC electrical, electrical/air control, air and plumbing, and water/honey pumps, is also required. Regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities, as well as performing plumbing, carpentry, machinist, and mechanic skills (including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair) are key functions. The supervisor must be available for emergency call-backs and willing to learn additional skills as necessary. The role also includes performing all other duties needed or assigned by the Plant Manager and/or Assistant Plant Manager.
