About The Position

The Neighborhood Service Manager is responsible for all physical operations of the Neighborhood, particularly the preservation and maintenance of the property. This role involves leadership in hiring, training, and mentoring staff, resolving problems, and looking out for the best interest of the Neighborhood. It also includes neighborhood management responsibilities such as managing the budget through cost-effective maintenance, overseeing safety training, capital projects, vendor and contractor management, and inventory maintenance. The role also requires upholding company standards, acting as a knowledge holder of company policies, and ensuring compliance with rules and regulations for the safe and effective operation of the Neighborhood.

Requirements

  • Minimum of five years' experience and/or training in apartment maintenance.
  • Minimum of two years supervisory experience.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, Neighbors, and the general public.
  • Availability to help when needed and be on-call.
  • A High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
  • Minimum of three certificates from related institutions reflecting completion of maintenance related courses, such as: BOMA, IREM and/or vocational programs.
  • Working knowledge of federal, state and local governing laws.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating manuals and maintenance instructions.
  • Requires standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, listening and hearing ability, and visual acuity.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
