About The Position

Provides the necessary maintenance support for the facilities, packaging equipment, power, and refrigeration at the Ankeny, Iowa plant. This position supervises the overnight shift, approximately 11:00 pm - 7:30 am.

Requirements

Six years of experience in engineering and maintenance, including four years of supervisory experience.
Experience in consumer food products and food packaging.
Apprenticeship in one of more maintenance areas.
Functional experience in the use of Word and Excel.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Attention to detail.
Ability to negotiate with vendors.
Analytical skills.
Ability to use analytical skills to determine the correct course of action.
Ability to manage several projects at the same time and be able to learn new projects quickly.

Nice To Haves

Working knowledge of JD Edwards is a plus.

Responsibilities

Supervise maintenance and capital projects at the Ankeny Plant.
Staff, schedule the maintenance department as appropriate, and ensure its effectiveness through training.
Maintain a positive labor relations environment with subordinate personnel.
Analyze production processes and methods.
Recommend and implement changes and new programs that improve costs.
Provide monthly summaries to the management of maintenance performance and capital project updates.
Maintain a cost-effective preventive maintenance program.
Ensure compliance with all safety and Good Manufacturing Practice policies and procedures in areas of own responsibility.
Provide ongoing training and enforcement as appropriate.
Responsible for reporting any food safety and quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.
Enforce GMP rules and guidelines.
Identify and communicate food safety issues; lead and influence food safety initiatives.
