About The Position

Wyandot Snacks is seeking a proactive leader, strong problem solver, and mechanically minded professional for the role of Maintenance Supervisor. This is a key position within our manufacturing operation, responsible for leading and developing maintenance technicians, improving equipment reliability, and collaborating with Production to ensure the safe and efficient operation of our facility. We are hiring for multiple shifts to ensure strong leadership, consistency, and accountability across our operations. The ideal candidate will be forward-thinking, adept at solving problems at their root, developing their team, and driving lasting improvements, rather than simply reacting to breakdowns.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 3+ years of maintenance leadership or supervisory experience in manufacturing or a similar industrial environment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with industrial maintenance and repair.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, equipment manuals, and technical drawings.
  • Strong problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills.
  • Computer and computerized maintenance management system experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, develop, and hold employees accountable.
  • Ability to work the assigned shift in a 24/7, multi-shift manufacturing operation.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical degree or vocational training preferred.
  • Experience with electrical systems, controls, automation, robotics, hydraulics, and pneumatics preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Build an engaged, accountable, and highly capable maintenance team.
  • Develop technicians through coaching, training, and cross-training.
  • Improve equipment reliability and reduce unplanned downtime.
  • Strengthen preventive and predictive maintenance practices.
  • Identify recurring equipment problems and eliminate their root causes.
  • Help technicians make sound decisions and take ownership.
  • Build strong working relationships with Production Supervisors, Quality, and other departments.
  • Create consistency and effective communication across multiple shifts.
  • Lead, coach, and develop maintenance technicians on your assigned shift.
  • Set clear expectations for safety, quality, workmanship, communication, and accountability.
  • Establish maintenance priorities based on safety, production needs, equipment condition, and reliability.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automated equipment.
  • Drive root-cause problem solving and permanent corrective actions.
  • Support and improve preventive maintenance programs.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities with Production Supervisors to minimize production disruptions.
  • Ensure maintenance work is completed safely, correctly, and to a high standard.
  • Ensure effective shift handoffs and communication across the maintenance team.
  • Promote a strong safety and food-safety culture.
  • Utilize computerized maintenance systems and maintain accurate maintenance records.
