Requirements

  • High school diploma or educational equivalent required
  • HVAC (CFC) Certification required
  • Minimum three years' experience in building and grounds maintenance
  • Valid VA Driver's License
  • Must own or consistently have a vehicle available for use
  • Must have or own tools required to complete assigned duties

Nice To Haves

  • OSHA Certification preferred
  • 2+ years supervisory experience over a maintenance team preferred

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing and performing custodial work, apartment turnovers, grounds maintenance, and basic repairs (carpentry, plumbing, electrical).
  • Implementing and managing a preventive maintenance schedule for all properties.
  • Conducting monthly inspections of owned buildings and units, noting deficiencies and making repairs.
  • Submitting recommendations for major improvements and expenditures.
  • Ensuring all buildings and building systems are operating properly.
  • Managing supply and equipment inventory, placing orders, and processing invoices and purchase orders within budget.
  • Coordinating contractor services, including inspection of work.
  • Ensuring compliance with standard safety programs and procedures.
  • Providing 24-hour emergency maintenance, including on-call scheduling and participation.
  • Training, developing, and supervising maintenance staff, including assigning and reviewing work.
