About The Position

Heidelberg Materials is one of the world's largest suppliers of building materials. Heidelberg Materials North America operates over 450 locations across the U.S. and Canada with approximately 9,000 employees. This role leads and coordinates maintenance activities to ensure safe and efficient quarry operations. The supervisor will oversee equipment inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs to minimize downtime, implement preventive maintenance programs and continuous improvement initiatives, and collaborate with operations and safety teams to maintain compliance with standards. They will also manage maintenance resources, including parts inventory and contractor support.

Requirements

  • Strong technical knowledge of heavy equipment and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to lead teams effectively and foster a culture of safety and accountability.
  • Skilled in planning, prioritizing, and executing maintenance tasks in a dynamic environment.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of maintenance experience in a quarry, mining, aggregates, cement, heavy industrial, or related manufacturing environment, including at least 3 years of supervisory experience.
  • Proven experience managing fixed plant maintenance operations, including crushers, screens, conveyors, feeders, pumps, motors, gearboxes, and material processing equipment.
  • Demonstrated success leading maintenance teams, coordinating plant shutdowns, scheduling repairs, and managing preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Experience utilizing Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) for maintenance planning, work order management, and inventory control.
  • Experience managing maintenance budgets, contractor services, and equipment reliability initiatives in a heavy industrial environment.
  • Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills with knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, welding, and fabrication practices.
  • Knowledge of MSHA regulations, lockout/tagout procedures, confined space entry, hot work permitting, and other quarry safety requirements.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and employee development skills with the ability to build a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and planning skills with the ability to effectively prioritize maintenance activities and respond to changing operational needs.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, maintenance reporting systems, and the ability to safely operate a motor vehicle with a valid driver's license.
