About The Position

The Battery Systems Assembly Maintenance Supervisor oversees the Maintenance Technicians and provides first-line support for all production and assembly machinery. The responsibilities of the BSA Maintenance Supervisor include overseeing the daily operations of the maintenance technicians and providing support for all preventive maintenance, repairs, installations, and removal of parts from machines and equipment. Duties also include logging and tracking work, parts used, and procedures, as well as noting any abnormalities. This role requires observing working practices and machines, performing root cause analysis, conducting FMEA, and collaborating with engineers and managers to solve problems. Additional tasks include diagnosing machines, robots, PLCs, VFDs, conveyors, bearings, gears, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, and HMI systems. This position operates within defined corporate policies and procedures and exercises judgment appropriate to its level of responsibility. The position may influence decisions related to functional operations, processes, or recommendations and escalate matters as required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, or facility maintenance with strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to take initiative, lead tasks or small teams, or serve as a go-to resource for peers
  • Experience supporting preventative maintenance tasks
  • Proven ability to communicate clearly with technicians, operators, and leadership
  • Knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, and mechanical systems
  • Knowledge of both hand and power tools
  • Knowledge of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) techniques
  • Ability to read and understand electrical schematics
  • Working knowledge of servo and stepper motors
  • Working knowledge of control systems, PLCs, and HMI systems
  • Knowledge of preventive maintenance practices
  • Knowledge of SAP and CMMS systems
  • Welding experience, including SMAW, GTAW, and GMAW
  • Working knowledge of Lockout/Tagout procedures
  • Familiarity with Lean work practices

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years supervising maintenance teams in an industrial, manufacturing, or facilities environment.
  • Experience in Welding (GMAW/MIG/FSW/Laser) and Press Process
  • Experience in automotive manufacturing environment
  • Experience in battery manufacturing environment
  • Ability to understand 2D/3D drawings and knowledge of design tools
  • ERP experience
