This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities. As part of a hardworking team of specialists, you will lead the maintenance team in ensuring all production assets are maintained to OEM/company standards by coordinating and overseeing preventative maintenance schedules, and directing detailed troubleshooting and repair activities for plant equipment.

Requirements

  • Completion of secondary education (High School Diploma or GED) required.
  • Minimum of 3+ years’ supervisory or team leadership experience in a maintenance or industrial environment.
  • Minimum 6 years’ hands-on experience in a multi-skilled maintenance role.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, ladder logic diagrams, and P&IDs.
  • Experience with VFDs, servo drives, HMI interfaces, and industrial instrumentation.
  • Familiarity with NEC, NFPA 70E, and general electrical safety practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with proven ability to foster teamwork and positive culture.
  • Strong self-motivation and organizational skills; able to prioritize and manage multiple projects.
  • Adaptable to changing priorities and capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Nice To Haves

  • Background in robotic systems, CNC equipment, and predictive maintenance technologies
  • Proficiency in PLC troubleshooting (Studio 5000, TIA Portal, etc.).
  • Fanuc, Haas, Siemens and Heidenhain controls experience
  • Experience operating heavy lifting equipment such as overhead cranes and forklifts around flight critical hardware
  • Experience with root cause analysis and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • A.S. degree in relevant technical field (Mechanical, Electrical, Automation, or related technology) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and supervise the equipment maintenance team responsible for preventive and corrective maintenance on a variety of industrial equipment, including robots, welders, furnaces, lasers, multi-axis mills, lathes, VTLs, and more.
  • Oversee and direct troubleshooting, repair, and ongoing maintenance of complex electrical control systems, including PLCs, HMIs, sensors, and VFDs.
  • Manage work requests, assign tasks to maintenance technicians, and ensure timely completion of work orders.
  • Coordinate emergency and unscheduled repairs, including managing overtime or shift coverage as necessary to maintain operational readiness.
  • Schedule, prioritize, and assign orders to meet operational and production deadlines.
  • Promote 5S principles of organizing and sustaining efficient and presentable team workspaces
  • Manage team performance, provide regular feedback and coaching, set near and long term goals, and conduct performance evaluations to support the professional growth and effectiveness of maintenance team members.
  • Champion and enforce safety procedures, practices, and training to ensure a safe industrial environment for all team members.
  • Administer and ensure accurate record-keeping within the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
