About The Position

Kohler is expanding and seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to support its new 1 million-square-foot manufacturing facility in Casa Grande, AZ. This role is a key part of the leadership team and requires working onsite. The ideal candidate will lead skilled trades technicians, including Mechanics, Electricians, and Automation Tech's, assisting with predictive, preventive, and reactive maintenance and troubleshooting of production equipment and facilities infrastructure. Essential knowledge includes hydraulics, pneumatics, motors, compressors, boilers, chillers, water treatment, dust collectors, basic electrical including controls, and safety protocols such as Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO), fall protection, and basic rigging. Strong leadership, coaching, and communication skills are crucial for managing direct reports, ensuring timely completion of work, proper parts management, and accurate work order closure. Experience with robotics and automated guided vehicles (AGVs) is a plus.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in a technical program or a combination of education, military experience, and relevant work experience
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in Maintenance Operations roles
  • 3+ years supervisory experience, specifically supervision of Mechanics, Electricians, Electro-Mechs, and/or other skilled trades
  • Experience in maintaining automated manufacturing processes
  • Working knowledge of hydraulics
  • Working knowledge of pneumatics
  • Working knowledge of motors
  • Working knowledge of compressors
  • Working knowledge of boilers
  • Working knowledge of chillers
  • Working knowledge of water treatment
  • Working knowledge of dust collectors
  • Working knowledge of basic electrical including controls
  • Working knowledge of safety including Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO)
  • Working knowledge of fall protection
  • Working knowledge of basic rigging
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to manage work queues of direct reports
  • Ability to confirm essential work is being completed on time
  • Ability to confirm parts are charged out and/or ordered
  • Ability to confirm work orders closed properly
  • Authorized to work in the US without requiring sponsorship now or in the future

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of skilled trades
  • Assign work orders – predictive, preventive, and reactive
  • Respond with priority to requested support
  • Maintain control of backlogs through the effective use of planning and scheduling functions
  • Lead, mentor, coach, and develop skilled trades in the performance of their duties and to their full potential; identify skill gaps and support with internal and external training
  • Analyze critical and recurring repair problems, initiate required action, and provide technical assistance and follow-up
  • Coordinate, together with the Maintenance Planner and MRO Buyer, the ordering and stocking of critical repair parts and other maintenance materials within Maintenance Stores
  • Enforce required safety protocols to support company policies, commonly understood safety regulations, OSHA, and FM Global
  • Maintain an organized shop environment including assigning 5S duties; cleanliness and good housekeeping are daily and shift-to-shift requirements
  • Support and adhere to assigned budget
