About The Position

Barchemy's Donora, PA location is seeking a skilled and hands-on Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the daily activities of the maintenance technicians supporting our manufacturing operations. This position is responsible for leading, coaching, and coordinating maintenance team members to ensure equipment reliability, minimize downtime, and maintain a safe and efficient work environment. The Maintenance Supervisor serves as the primary point of contact for day-to-day maintenance activities, work prioritization, troubleshooting support, and technician development while working closely with the Maintenance Manager and production leadership. This version positions the role as a working supervisor overseeing front-line technicians, while the Maintenance Manager remains responsible for maintenance strategy, budgets, capital projects, staffing, TPM initiatives, and overall department performance.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with PLC troubleshooting and industrial controls.
  • Knowledge of preventative and predictive maintenance practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and team leadership abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree, technical certification, or equivalent maintenance experience preferred.
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of food manufacturing, GMPs, and safety requirements preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of maintenance technicians.
  • Assign, prioritize, and monitor maintenance work orders to ensure timely completion.
  • Support equipment troubleshooting and repair efforts to minimize production downtime.
  • Ensure preventative maintenance tasks are completed according to schedule.
  • Conduct daily maintenance shift meetings and communicate priorities to the team.
  • Monitor work quality and ensure maintenance standards are consistently followed.
  • Train, coach, and mentor maintenance technicians to develop technical and leadership skills.
  • Assist in identifying root causes of equipment failures and implementing corrective actions.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities with production and other departments.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, GMP, food safety, and company policies.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and repair documentation within the CMMS or ERP system.
  • Support spare parts inventory management and communicate parts requirements to maintenance leadership.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on reliability, efficiency, and equipment performance.
  • Assist with scheduling maintenance coverage for weekends, shutdowns, and off-shift work as needed.
