About The Position

Sunset Woods Senior Living is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to join their team of dedicated professionals. The role focuses on person-centered care, assisting residents with daily living activities to maximize independence and honor dignity. The Maintenance Director is responsible for the ongoing preventative maintenance of the facility building, equipment, and grounds, and for troubleshooting maintenance problems. This position ensures that maintenance services are available for emergency needs that may arise outside of regular working hours. The supervisor performs most tasks independently and utilizes properly licensed vendors approved by administration for assistance when needed. They also assist residents with moving and minor repairs.

Requirements

  • Practices good safety awareness and follows safety procedures, including infection control measures where applicable.
  • Ability to be self-supervising and self-motivating.
  • Able to set priorities and complete tasks in a timely manner.
  • Must demonstrate a positive, courteous and respectful attitude to residents, families, staff and visitors.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Must have clean driving record with no major violations.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in building maintenance.
  • Prior experience in managing a team.
  • Knowledge of Plumbing, including but not limited to design/mechanics of commodes, plumbing fixtures, drains, discharge lines, hot water heaters, dishwashers, ice machines, etc.
  • Knowledge of HVAC, including but not limited to general principles of HVAC and heat pump operation/mechanics, and refrigeration.
  • Knowledge of Electricity, including but not limited to wiring, voltage, amperage.
  • Knowledge of Mechanics, including but not limited to design/operation of engines.

Responsibilities
