About The Position

An iconic Cape May resort hotel, The Montreal Beach Resort remains a favorite destination for beachgoers to the Jersey shore – and has been since 1966. Come join a fun team with a fun culture while working in the beautiful Cape May environment! The property currently consists of our hotel, which boasts 70+ hotel rooms, a locally favorite restaurant, Harry's Ocean Bar & Grill, and of course beach service. The resort is also proud to have Cape May’s only oceanfront liquor store – The Wine Cellar at Harry’s. The Montreal Beach Resort has recently been acquired by Madison Resorts, with plans to offer a complete renovation to this already beautiful property.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a maintenance worker or other similar position, preferably in a corporate setting.
  • Basic working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
  • Experience working with tools, including hand and electrical tools.
  • Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.
  • Goal-oriented, organized team player
  • Encouraging team and staff; able to mentor and lead.
  • Self-motivated and self-directed
  • Experienced at compiling and following strict budgets.
  • Accurate and precise attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Assists team members when needed to accomplish team goals.
  • High school degree
  • Previous experience in maintenance supervision or related field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • General passion for creative problem-solving.

Nice To Haves

  • bachelor's degree in engineering, facilities management, business management or related field preferred.
  • Certification in facilities management a plus.
  • Certified Pool Operator is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Know, understand, and adhere to company established policies and procedures.
  • Ensures guest interactions are always positive. Smiles with every guest.
  • Planning building maintenance and operational programs.
  • Managing all vendor contracts.
  • Ensuring the efficiency of all building systems.
  • Coordinating site safety programs.
  • Creates preventative maintenance procedures, such as punch lists and enforces utilization.
  • Preparing operating reports and budgets.
  • Maintaining a safe work environment for all team members.
  • Ensuring all processes and compliance programs are met.
  • Managing facilities planning and space allocation.
  • Preparing cost estimates for moves and equipment.
  • Coordinating with department heads and building contractors.
  • Managing maintenance of grounds.
  • Ensure the pools are open by their scheduled dates and times.
  • Tests and maintains chemical balances in pools; adjusts chemicals based on test results.
  • Ensuring all utility systems are inspected and in accordance with regulations.
  • Coordinating building security and maintenance services.
  • Managing and supervising all facilities and maintenance personnel.
  • Overseeing all building functions.
  • Coordinating all maintenance issues and schedules.
  • Mentor and develop the Maintenance department by: managing work allocation, training, problem resolution, performance evaluation and the building of an effective and efficient team dynamic.
  • Responsible for hiring, retaining, motivating, evaluating and directing Maintenance staff, ensuring team members receive adequate guidance and resources to accomplish all goals and tasks established.
  • Preparing and filing reports with government and regulatory authorities including environmental permitting.
  • Assists construction teams with demolition and remodeling.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
