About The Position

The Maintenance Supervisor will supervise plant maintenance personnel to ensure optimal performance and maintain machinery and support systems at maximum efficiency. This role involves administering maintenance programs, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations, and collaborating with various departments to resolve issues and drive continuous improvement. The supervisor will also be responsible for training mechanics, responding to breakdowns, and completing project jobs.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Better than average troubleshooting knowledge of 3 phase 480VAC, control circuits of 110VAC and 24DC, AB PLCs.
Ability to weld with TIG and stick.
Ability to use torch, band saw, grinder, plasma cutter.
Ability to fabricate simple guards, covers, catch pans, etc.
Knowledge of power drills, drill press, mill, and lathe machines.
Fluent in MS Outlook, MS Excel, MS Word.
Good communication and leadership skills.
3 years of experience in a manufacturing setting.
3 years of prior supervisory experience.

Nice To Haves

Better than average knowledge of maintenance functions such as electrical, electrical controls, PLCs, plumbing, conveyors, motors/gearboxes, and ability to read schematics/blueprints.

Responsibilities

Supervise plant maintenance personnel to ensure optimal performance.
Maintain machinery and support systems at maximum efficiency.
Follow, maintain, and evaluate preventive maintenance (PM) programs and schedules.
Administer the "Red Tag" program to monitor adherence to food safety goals through maintenance, sanitation, and quality verification steps.
Maintain strong working relationships with all other departments.
Train and cross-train mechanics in both mechanical and electrical repairs on various equipment.
Respond to breakdowns during off shifts and be available for contact during off hours.
Complete project jobs from preparing BOM lists to completion.
Ensure compliance with Company and OSHA rules related to safety, GMPs, security, and PPE policies.
Ensure compliance with EPA rules and regulations.
Keep the shop and maintenance areas clean and well-maintained.
Administer disciplinary action in accordance with Company policy when necessary.
Isolate repetitive line problems and collaborate with line leaders, Managers, and Chief Engineer for solutions.
Notify the Plant, Chief Engineer, Managers, and Quality Assurance Manager of pertinent issues in a timely manner.
Schedule work for maintenance personnel on the shift.
Communicate and administer all Company policies and procedures consistently.
Perform all other assigned duties.
Willingness to work extra hours or extra days if necessary.
