About The Position

The Maintenance Supervisor is a hands-on leadership role responsible for ensuring the reliability, safety, and optimal performance of all production and facility equipment. This position oversees mechanical repairs, equipment installations, changeovers, set-ups, and preventive maintenance to support uninterrupted manufacturing operations. Additionally, the role manages spare parts procurement and inventory, coordinates major equipment rebuilds, and leads plant facilities maintenance activities. The Maintenance Supervisor plays a critical role in driving operational efficiency by scheduling and directing daily maintenance tasks, mentoring and developing team members, and maintaining high standards of workmanship and compliance. This individual will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to proactively identify and resolve mechanical issues, implement continuous improvement initiatives, and ensure alignment with safety, quality, and production goals.

Requirements

  • Minimum: High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years’ maintenance experience preferably an industrial manufacturing environment
  • Hands-on industrial facilities & equipment in related industry, beverage experience a plus
  • Strong electrical knowledge and troubleshooting highly desired
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and engineering documents and specifications as they apply to manufacturing equipment, facilities and systems
  • Basic knowledge of both (A/C) high voltage and (D/C) low voltage electrical wiring
  • Reads and understands electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic diagrams & schematics
  • Computer proficient; including MS Office
  • Demonstrated ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English to ensure understanding of written procedures, safety instructions, technical documentation, and verbal communications
  • Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and use of weights and measures. Must be comfortable using a calculator
  • Basic understanding of food production and food safety principles is a plus
  • Team-oriented attitude; respectful, approachable, honest, dependable, and adaptable to change. Capable of resolving conflicts professionally

  • technical trade school, military training or technical college preferred
  • Experience with pumps, piping, instrumentation equipment, welding, use of hoists, cranes, and fine measurement devices is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Enforce all company safety policies, quality standards, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) within the Maintenance & Facilities Department
  • Promote a strong safety culture by ensuring team adherence to established safety practices and promptly addressing any unsafe conditions
  • Maintain operational readiness of all manufacturing equipment, responding swiftly to breakdowns and implementing effective, often creative, solutions to minimize downtime
  • Direct and perform line changeovers, mechanical adjustments, troubleshooting, and repairs for all plant equipment and facility systems
  • Ensure timely completion of all preventive maintenance (PM) tasks, inspections, and work orders as scheduled through the CMMS platform
  • Review and verify all maintenance documentation for completeness and accuracy, including PMs, repairs, and parts usage records
  • Support and enforce best practices for documentation and record-keeping across the team
  • Supervise, guide, and support maintenance team members, including providing technical direction and after-hours assistance as needed
  • Train manufacturing personnel on proper equipment care, cleaning, operation, and visual inspection protocols
  • Collaborate with peers, staff, and vendors to maintain strong working relationships and ensure maintenance objectives are aligned with overall plant goals
  • Participate in team meetings and effectively communicate departmental performance, goals, and opportunities for improvement
  • Assist in the development of critical parts lists and ensure accurate inventory tracking of spare parts
  • Oversee timely ordering and availability of components required for repairs, rebuilds, and planned maintenance activities
  • Foster a proactive maintenance culture grounded in continuous improvement, root cause analysis, and predictive maintenance strategies
  • Identify and implement initiatives that reduce downtime, improve equipment reliability, and enhance overall operational efficiency
  • Maintain active Forklift Certification for the facility, and demonstrate the flexibility to work varying shifts, weekends, or holidays as required to support plant operations
  • Serve as a point of escalation for urgent maintenance issues, providing hands-on support and decision-making when necessary
