In September 2022, Stellar Manufacturing was acquired by Leslie's as an affiliate. Stellar Manufacturing is a contract manufacturer of solid particle products and specializes in chemical processing services such as specialty tableting, compaction granulation, and granular filling. We support the manufacturing of a variety of consumer and industrial products including water treatment chemicals, janitorial and sanitation products, agrochemicals, raw materials, and more. The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for leading and developing a team of maintenance professionals who install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair manufacturing equipment, facility systems, and electronic controls. This role ensures equipment reliability, supports production goals, promotes workplace safety, and drives continuous improvement through effective maintenance programs and team leadership.

Requirements

  • Associate degree, technical certification, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3–6 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Minimum of 1 year of supervisory or team leadership experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, schematics, and parts catalogs.
  • Strong troubleshooting, mechanical, electrical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and work with precise measurements.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Hire, train, coach, evaluate, and develop maintenance team members.
  • Plan and prioritize daily maintenance activities using the work order management system.
  • Foster strong partnerships with Production, Quality Assurance, Shipping & Receiving, and other departments to support operational excellence.
  • Ensure compliance with Quality Management System (QMS) requirements, including the maintenance of quality-critical equipment and operating procedures.
  • Support Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) programs and initiatives.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and operate machinery for testing, training, and certification purposes.
  • Utilize machine shop equipment and tools to fabricate and repair parts as needed.
  • Manage maintenance-related purchasing activities, including parts, equipment, and contractor services.
  • Assist with equipment repairs, rebuilds, and process improvements.
  • Develop and enhance preventive maintenance programs, work order systems, training programs, and parts inventory processes.
  • Monitor maintenance records, preventive maintenance schedules, and warranty documentation.
  • Ensure proper chemical labeling and compliance with plant safety requirements.
  • Research and recommend equipment upgrades and modifications to improve efficiency and reliability.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
  • Directly supervise a team of 10–15 maintenance employees.
  • Coordinate and oversee the work of outside contractors when necessary.
  • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
