About The Position

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the maintenance department in a manufacturing environment. This role involves managing a team of associates, ensuring the quality operation of machinery and mechanical equipment, and coordinating maintenance activities to meet production deadlines and business needs. The supervisor will also ensure compliance with external regulations and company policies, while fostering a positive and inclusive work environment that promotes teamwork, continuous learning, and associate engagement.

Requirements

  • 2 years' experience in a Walmart maintenance technician position OR 1 year's experience in industrial maintenance (e.g., welding, refrigeration, electrical, electronics), including six months leading a work or project team.

Responsibilities

  • Supports associate engagement by providing learning opportunities, building relationships, providing cross-training opportunities, and consistently encouraging teamwork.
  • Monitors work plans, workloads, and associates to meet deadlines by solving problems, resolving delays, and auditing progress.
  • Manages maintenance department daily operations, ensuring proper diagnosis of equipment problems, developing repair alternatives, and taking action to repair power equipment, electrical systems, electronics, conveyor systems, and other facility areas.
  • Ensures associates are trained to properly make repairs to equipment, including material handling equipment, pneumatic systems, electrical systems, air compressors, ammonia refrigeration equipment, and conveyors.
  • Monitors the energy center where applicable and performs general building repairs.
  • Supports production by ensuring quality operation of machinery and mechanical equipment.
  • Assigns and supports activities to ensure compliance with external rules and regulations (e.g., OSHA, Hazardous Waste, NFPA, Storm Water, DOT).
  • Assigns and supports the maintenance of automated material handling equipment and systems.
  • Coordinates, completes, and oversees job-related activities and assignments by developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, supporting plans and initiatives, identifying and communicating goals, building accountability, and identifying improvement opportunities.
  • Provides supervision and development opportunities for associates by hiring, training, mentoring, assigning duties, providing recognition, and promoting a belonging mindset.
  • Ensures compliance with company policies and procedures, and supports company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity.
  • Works collaboratively, builds strong and trusting relationships, and communicates with impact, energy, and positivity to motivate and influence.
