Position Summary Maintenance Supervisor oversees the maintenance team of the New York office, ensuring facilities are in good condition, managing repairs, and coordinating maintenance projects.

Requirements

  • Technical Knowledge: Proficiency in various maintenance tasks, including plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC, corporate kitchen systems, and carpentry.
  • Leadership Skills: Ability to lead a team effectively, manage schedules, and coordinate with other departments or contractors.
  • Problem Solving Abilities: Strong troubleshooting skills to quickly identify and resolve maintenance issues.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with team members, management and upwards.
  • Computer Skills: Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, iPhone messaging, emails.
  • Must be able to lift and move objects such as heavy boxes, furniture and equipment.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in building maintenance, facility management, or a related field is often preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise Maintenance Staff: Lead and manage the maintenance support team, assigning tasks, managing timely responses to requests and ensuring adherence to safety regulations.
  • Supervise and assist with conference room meeting set ups and breakdowns including special events, working with the various hospitality and business services teams.
  • Supervise/Execute all internal office moves.
  • Ensure onsite coverage on holidays and weather-related events.
  • Coordinate Maintenance Projects: Plan and oversee routine maintenance, repairs, and upgrades to prevent equipment failures and minimize downtime.
  • Conduct Inspections: Regularly inspect facilities to identify maintenance needs and ensure compliance within health and safety standards.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including working orders, equipment history, compliance reports, and warehouse office furniture inventory. Provide regular updates to management on maintenance performance and issues.
  • Manage Budgets: Oversee maintenance budgets, including purchasing supplies and equipment, and ensuring cost-effective operations.
  • Training and Development: Hire, train and mentor maintenance staff to enhance their skills and ensure high-quality work performance.
