About The Position

The Maintenance Supervisor leads, directs, and coordinates the activities of maintenance mechanics who repair, maintain, and install machines, tools, and industrial processing equipment. This role ensures safe work practices, develops procedures to maximize efficiency, negotiates vendor contracts, reviews equipment specifications, determines outsourced repairs, and provides monthly analysis of maintenance spend. Flexibility is required to work 40+ hours per week, including weekends and on-call duties.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma / GED preferred
  • Ability to travel up to 10%
  • Must be 21 years or older (due to interstate travel and federal regulations)
  • 3–4 years of management experience
  • Minimum 2 years of commercial driving experience
  • CDL Class A with Tanker endorsements
  • HazMat endorsement preferred
  • Clean driving record
  • Hands-on experience with waste operations and equipment (track hoe, skid steer, forklift, vac truck, tanker trucks, roll-off trucks, pressure washer, shredders, etc.) preferred
  • Safety-conscious, reliable, strong work ethic
  • Willingness to work any shift and frequent overtime
  • Computer literacy and strong math skills
  • Certifications
  • 40 Hr HAZWOPER
  • Ability to pass the Respirator Fit Test

Nice To Haves

  • HazMat endorsement preferred
  • Hands-on experience with waste operations and equipment (track hoe, skid steer, forklift, vac truck, tanker trucks, roll-off trucks, pressure washer, shredders, etc.) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and supervise maintenance systems and processes (Preventive & Predictive Maintenance, TPM, SOPs, Safety, etc.)
  • Lead a team of Maintenance Mechanics in predictive & preventative maintenance and machine repair
  • Schedule maintenance in coordination with Production, including weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual preventive maintenance on trucks and heavy equipment
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance work and inventory
  • Provide regular status reports to operations management
  • Train employees on proper work methods and safety procedures
  • Manage inventory of parts, tools, and equipment; maintain accurate asset listings
  • Review vendor invoices for compliance with quoted costs
  • Provide long-term solutions and daily support for troubleshooting and equipment failures
  • Develop and maintain KPIs for maintenance performance (supplier performance, equipment reliability, budget adherence, etc.)
