About The Position

The Maintenance Supervisor coordinates activities and prioritizes the repair and maintenance of all plant equipment on their shift. This position is management’s representative in interpreting company policy/procedures and enforcing safety regulations. The Maintenance Supervisor strives to achieve company goals in manufacturing and maintenance, interacts and works closely with production shift supervisor.

Requirements

  • Experience with safety and environmental training
  • 2-4 years verifiable Plant Maintenance experience
  • 1 year Supervisory experience or verifiable certifications (6-12 hours) in Industrial Supervision
  • 1 year general manufacturing experience
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Basic math and computer skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers, supervision, and management
  • Familiar with inspection equipment, gauges, and measuring tools
  • Mechanically inclined and able to use different types of hand tools
  • Proven work history and good attendance record
  • Ability to obtain a forklift/manlift license
  • Posses advanced maintenance knowledge
  • advanced knowledge of 480 volt 3 ph. Electricity
  • general knowledge of PLC controls, logic and programming

Nice To Haves

  • 3-5 years manufacturing/factory experience preferred in a fast-paced setting

Responsibilities

  • Establishes or adjusts work schedule to meet production requirement using knowledge of capacities of machines/equipment and available manpower.
  • Oversees preventative and basic maintenance, adjustments, set-ups, and repairs on all production and facility equipment, utilizing accepted procedures and tools to insure minimal downtime and maximum operating efficiency.
  • Oversees maintenance shutdowns and start-ups.
  • Oversees parts and material requisitions for assigned shift.
  • May perform specialized maintenance procedures.
  • Works with staff, sales and scheduling to achieve desired quality and production goals.
  • Responsible for the control of preventative maintenance and predictive maintenance procedures.
  • Works with PM Coordinator on changes to PM tasks and instructions.
  • Analyzes work problems and recommends measures to improve equipment performance, product quality, working conditions, and equipment usage to increase efficiency. Coordinates suggested changes to the Maintenance Manager.
  • Monitors maintenance productivity.
  • Assigns work during shift based on safety, productivity, and energy management.
  • Delegates or performs training on new equipment and new employee training.
  • Coordinates maintenance activities of departments/shifts.
  • Supervise and train lower level maintenance personnel during rebuild, repair, installation, of machinery and equipment.
  • Take over Maintenance Manager responsibilities when needed.
  • Assist Maintenance Manager in planning and decision making process.
  • Responsible for maintenance personnel in an emergency situation.
  • Responsible for maintenance housekeeping.
  • Must be able to change shifts as needed.
  • Expected to work weekend and holiday duty as designated.
  • May be required to occasionally perform regular maintenance staff duties.
  • Use troubleshooting skills to facilitate repairs during equipment downtime.
  • Be familiar and compliant with the systems, procedures, and documentation of the Crown Quality System and how it relates to this position and Crown quality objectives.
