About The Position
DirectHire Now hiring an experienced Maintenance Supervisor in Franklin Park, Illinois. Note: this is a full time, direct hire opportunity with a large food manufacturing company with a great reputation!
Requirements
- Active RETA CRST certification (REQUIRED – must have)
- Strong experience with industrial ammonia refrigeration and PSM environments
- Hands-on maintenance experience across mechanical, electrical, and facility systems
- Working knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, sensors, and industrial controls
- Prior leadership or supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong troubleshooting skills with ability to remain hands-on while leading a team
Nice To Haves
- Experience in food manufacturing (USDA/FDA/GMP) is highly preferred
Responsibilities
- Lead and work alongside maintenance team on daily repairs, breakdowns, preventative maintenance, and facility support
- Oversee ammonia refrigeration systems and support PSM (Process Safety Management) compliance and documentation
- Troubleshoot industrial equipment using mechanical, electrical, and PLC knowledge
- Coordinate repairs with Production, QA, and Sanitation to ensure safe and compliant return-to-service
- Maintain documentation for downtime, repairs, ammonia systems, and maintenance activities
- Support robotics/automation systems including packaging equipment and palletizing systems (as applicable)
- Train, coach, and hold maintenance team accountable to safety, quality, and performance standards
- Ensure adherence to LOTO, food safety, and regulatory compliance at all times
