About The Position

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and directing the daily operations of the maintenance department. This includes ensuring the efficient and effective performance of all maintenance staff, managing work orders, and maintaining the physical plant and grounds of the district's facilities. The role requires a strong understanding of building systems, preventative maintenance, and safety regulations. The supervisor will also be involved in budget management, inventory control, and coordinating with external contractors.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in building maintenance or a related field.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience.
  • Valid Nevada driver's license.
  • Ability to pass a background check.
  • Proficiency in using maintenance management software.
  • Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building systems.
  • Understanding of safety procedures and regulations.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical manuals.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Certifications in HVAC, electrical, or plumbing.
  • Experience in a school district or public sector environment.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and direct the daily activities of maintenance staff, including assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and providing guidance.
  • Oversee the scheduling and completion of all maintenance work orders, ensuring timely and efficient resolution of issues.
  • Implement and manage a comprehensive preventative maintenance program for all district facilities and equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, building codes, and district policies.
  • Manage the maintenance department budget, including forecasting expenses, tracking expenditures, and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment, ensuring adequate stock levels and proper storage.
  • Coordinate with external contractors and vendors for specialized maintenance or repair services.
  • Conduct regular inspections of facilities to identify potential issues and ensure a safe and functional environment.
  • Respond to emergency maintenance requests and coordinate appropriate response actions.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, work orders, and equipment history.
  • Participate in the hiring, training, and evaluation of maintenance staff.
  • Collaborate with other departments to support their maintenance needs.
