About The Position

This role supports NYC Transit Radio and Security Systems by designing and delivering training, developing preventive and remedial maintenance procedures, and providing technical and administrative support. The position oversees Radio, CCTV, and Security system operations, manages in‑house and capital project activities, supervises installations and storerooms, orders materials, and provides leadership to Level I Supervisors to ensure safe, reliable 24/7 operations.

Requirements

  • Five (5) years of full-time satisfactory experience in the maintenance department of a major railroad or transit authority repairing and maintaining electronic communication or control systems.
  • At least one (1) year of this experience must have been in a supervisory capacity.
  • A motor vehicle driver licenses valid in the State of New York with no restrictions which would preclude the performance of Maintenance Supervisor (Electronic Equipment) work.
  • Must maintain driver license for the duration of employment.
  • Current MTA/NYC Transit Electronic Equipment Maintenance Supervisors are eligible to apply.
  • Must complete at least one year of service in their current role prior to applying (for current MTA employees).
  • Satisfactory record of job performance, attendance, and disciplinary conduct.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience conducting training on Radio, CCTV, Security and Network equipment.
  • Experience creating preventive and remedial maintenance procedures.
  • Thorough knowledge of working in an operating environment, responsible for the maintenance, and repair of electronic equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of electronic components, test equipment, procedures, and EAM database.
  • Working knowledge of NYCT Rules, regulations, operations, and safety procedures.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in various PC applications including MS Excel, MS Word, and MS Outlook.

Responsibilities

  • Designing, scheduling, and conducting training on various Radio, CCTV and Security systems.
  • Creating Preventive and Remedial Maintenance procedures.
  • Performing administrative and technical tasks as required.
  • Updating the department's shared drive.
  • Conducting employee evaluations.
  • Supporting existing Radio, CCTV and Security systems, in house contracts, Capital Contracts and other RSS assets in both current and future.
  • Supervising in-house installations and storerooms.
  • Ordering materials and equipment.
  • Providing supervisory oversight of Level I Supervisors to ensure safe and efficient 24X7 operations.
