The Maintenance Superintendent manages plant reliability, R&M costs, maintenance work force productivity, work quality, and safety with forward planning and co-ordination of manpower, parts and material. The work scope includes budgeting for labor resources, parts, special equipment, and tools needed to successfully complete the work. This person will proactively ensure all maintenance work is conducted with safety, quality, and reliability as priorities. The Maintenance Superintendent is responsible for managing reliability centered maintenance strategies, based on preventive and predictive maintenance, and shall strive for continuous improvement. They provide coaching and support to chronic maintenance issues overseen by operations supervision. They will work directly with the Maintenance Planner to build a reliable CMMS system and associated maintenance team. They are well aware of plant operational performance and serve as a troubleshooting champion.
