About The Position

Residential Handyman / Maintenance Sub Contractor (Steady Work) We’re looking for experienced maintenance technicians to work as independent subcontractors with Avenue Maintenance. If you have your own tools, transportation, and insurance—and want consistent work without dealing with scheduling, invoicing, or marketing—we handle that for you. You’ll be dispatched to a steady flow of residential maintenance jobs across our portfolio. This is a great fit for skilled techs who want to stay busy, work independently, and get paid for what they produce.

Requirements

• Must operate as an independent contractor
• Must carry general liability insurance (required)
• Must have your own tools to complete typical maintenance work
• Must have reliable transportation
• Proven experience in residential maintenance or related trades
• Strong working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC basics, and general repairs
• Ability to diagnose problems and complete jobs without supervision
• Reliable, responsive, and able to show up and complete scheduled work
• Professional communication with tenants and team
• Ability to take photos and document completed work

Responsibilities

• Complete service calls and repairs at residential rental properties
• Diagnose maintenance issues and perform repairs (plumbing, electrical, HVAC basics, general handyman work)
• Handle work orders efficiently and close them out promptly
• Perform preventative maintenance to reduce future issues
• Communicate job status, updates, and completion clearly
• Maintain quality workmanship and ensure repairs are done correctly
• Coordinate with our team when additional work or approvals are needed
