About The Position

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Maintenance Staff member to join our dynamic team. This vital role involves ensuring the smooth operation, safety, and upkeep of our properties. As a Maintenance Staff member, you will be responsible for performing routine inspections, troubleshooting issues, and executing repairs across various systems and equipment. Your expertise will help maintain a safe, functional, and welcoming environment for residents and staff. Requirements

  • Basic plus mechanical knowledge combined with basic electrical experience for troubleshooting.
  • Basic plus simple plumbing experience.
  • Vision correctable to 20/20 or sufficient to complete job responsibilities, including color recognition.
  • Hearing correctable in order to complete job responsibilities.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds required.
  • Ability to climb ladders to access areas to repair required.
  • Knowledge of residential painting techniques for aesthetic improvements and touch-ups.
  • Basic plus computer software skills for scheduling, tracking, and documenting maintenance activities.
  • Excellent communication skills in English for clear instructions and effective collaboration with staff and clients.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular inspections of building systems including electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC to identify potential issues early.
  • Perform repairs and maintenance tasks such as electrical wiring, plumbing fixes, basic janitorial activities and residential painting to uphold property standards.
  • Ensure regular inspection of HV/AC, filter changes, fire alarms and boiler maintenance are completed as scheduled, and all inspection documentation is readily available.
  • Supervise or assist with facilities maintenance projects, ensuring safety protocols are followed and work is completed on time.
  • Maintain shelter passenger vehicles following the weekly vehicle inspection checklist.
  • Support staff and residential clients by attending to maintenance requests promptly and professionally.
  • Obtain bids for major maintenance projects.
