About The Position

Part-Time Maintenance staff are responsible for performing a wide variety of general labor tasks, including cleaning, maintenance, repairs, painting, construction, landscaping, and seasonal duties at The Grove. This role is responsible for performing essential functions such as general building maintenance and repair, assisting with construction projects, thorough interior cleaning of buildings, performing seasonal work assignments like snow removal and salting, completing landscaping activities, performing set-up and tear-down for programs and special events, proper garbage removal and disposal, minor maintenance of tools and equipment, routine inspection of furnishings and landscaping, identifying and repairing or reporting failures or hazards, and securing each location before leaving the site.

Requirements

Minimum Age Requirement: Must be at least 18 years of age.
High school diploma or equivalent.
At least 1-2 years’ relevant experience.
Illinois driver’s license required.

Nice To Haves

Professional certification(s) and/or active membership in a professional association desirable.

Responsibilities

Performs general building maintenance and repair.
Assists with construction projects.
Cleans the interiors of buildings thoroughly (washing & waxing floors, windows, wiping walls, cleaning bathrooms & kitchen areas, etc.).
Performs all seasonal work assignments (e.g. snow removal, salting, etc.).
Completes landscaping activities (planting, mowing, raking, chipping, etc.).
Performs set-up and tear-down for programs and special events.
Removes garbage and disposes of properly.
Minor maintenance of all tools, equipment, machinery, and mechanical systems as necessary.
Routinely inspects furnishings and landscaping (walkways, parking lots, benches, etc.).
Identifies and repairs or reports any failures or hazards.
Secures each location before leaving site, checking security, light fixtures, fire extinguishers, fire extinguishers, thermostats, locks, and related items.
