About The Position

Labcorp is seeking a Maintenance Specialist to join our team in Burlington, NC. This role is responsible for performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repairs on various facilities systems, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and mechanical systems. The specialist will also maintain and repair furniture systems, small equipment, lighting, plumbing fixtures, perform minor painting, furniture moves, clean-ups, and handle thermal comfort calls. Additionally, support will be provided to the lab in repairing and testing general lab equipment, performing scheduled maintenance, equipment setups, and troubleshooting. The role involves establishing equipment maintenance and calibration procedures, performing and documenting calibrations, and creating Calibration and Maintenance Plans for new equipment. This position also includes purchasing equipment and spare parts, and completing necessary documentation.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Possess a valid driver's license
  • Strong working knowledge of electrical, mechanical and plumbing systems
  • Strong computer and data entry skills
  • Excellent communication skills; both written and oral
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Ability to lift 50lbs

Nice To Haves

  • HVAC trade school certification
  • 5 years or more of HVAC experience
  • BAS and CMMS systems knowledge
  • Previous experience in building and facilities maintenance
  • Flexibly to travel to other locations within the region

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repairs on various facilities systems including, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and mechanical systems
  • Perform maintenance and repair on furniture systems, small equipment, lighting, plumbing fixtures, minor painting, furniture moves, clean-ups, and thermal comfort calls
  • Assist with grounds keeping as needed -- shoveling snow, spreading salt, gutter cleaning, trimming branches, etc.
  • Support the lab in repairing and testing general lab equipment when necessary, performing scheduled maintenance, equipment setups, and troubleshooting
  • Assemble dispensing pumps and clean dies.
  • Conduct morning inspection and record humidity and temperatures.
  • Replace humidity and temperature charts weekly.
  • Conduct scheduled preventative maintenance and routine facility maintenance (e.g., check light fixtures and replace bulbs as needed).
  • Perform troubleshooting and repairs as necessary in production area.
  • Establish equipment maintenance and calibration procedures, and perform and document equipment calibrations (e.g., pumps, process controllers, PLCs, freezers, and refrigerators).
  • Schedule equipment calibration and maintenance activities
  • Create Calibration and Maintenance Plans for new equipment.
  • Perform equipment modification and development.
  • Purchase equipment and equipment spare parts.
  • Complete documentation (e.g., Equipment Qualification, Report of Calibration Failure / Equipment Failure, TDN), and maintain Equipment Files and Maintenance/Calibration tickler file.
