About The Position

LabCorp is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our team in Phoenix, AZ. This role involves performing corrective and preventive maintenance tasks on MEP systems in a large medical laboratory, including air handlers, cooling towers, chillers, boilers, humidifiers, VAV systems, air compressors, pumps, motors, exhaust fans, and refrigeration devices. The technician will also monitor the Building Management System (BMS), perform daily rounds, and maintain building appearance. Additionally, the role requires updating the CMMS system, managing emails, participating in safety training, assisting with snow removal, and being available for on-call duties and overtime as necessary.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Prior experience in a similar HVAC position; 3 years is preferred
• Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical and plumbing systems
• Knowledge of Computer Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
• Excellent communication skills; both written and oral
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
• Possess a valid driver’s license
• Ability to lift 50lbs

Nice To Haves

• Relevant degree from a trade school is preferred
• CFR 40 Certifications and/or a Black Seal Boiler License are a plus

Responsibilities

• Perform corrective and preventive maintenance tasks as assigned
• Track repairs and PM activities
• Maintain building appearance
• Maintain MEP systems in a large medical laboratory including air handlers, cooling towers, chillers, lower pressure boilers, humidifiers, VAV systems, air compressors, pumps, motors, exhaust fans, and refrigeration devices
• Monitor the Building Management System (BMS) on a daily basis alerting management of any discrepancies and make adjustments as needed
• Perform daily rounds to check, compressed air systems, DI Water Systems, and Lab Waste Systems
• Read & interpret shop drawings & control schematics
• Update CMMS system and excel spread sheets, generate word documents and manage daily emails.
• Participate in annual safety training and earn required certifications for the position
• Assist with snow removal during winter conditions along with other trades as needed
• Assist other trades as needed
• Available for On-call duties and OT as necessary
• Perform other maintenance duties as required
