The Maintenance Specialist is responsible for providing predictive and preventative maintenance duties to the CATACEL SSR mechanical process line and associated equipment.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ years in industrial maintenance including: electrical, PLC and ladder logic experience, instrumentation knowledge, mechanical diagnostics, and safety
  • Experienced in use of hand-held tools, machinery and equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret prints, P&ID’s, ladder logic, electrical schematics
  • Computer skills including maintenance software and PLC troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and departments
  • Comprehends common technical vocabulary
  • Computer logic experience
  • Excellent manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination
  • Conscientious, Dependable, Detail Conscious, Practical, Evaluative
  • Flexibility with different tasks/equipment
  • Troubleshooting and complex problem solving
  • Numerical computation and reasoning skills

Responsibilities

  • Maintains a preventative and predictive maintenance schedule for equipment and facilities
  • Maintains a maintenance shop supplies inventory
  • Maintains critical spare parts inventory for all production equipment
  • Troubleshoot mechanical problems
  • Maintains and repairs machines and production equipment safely and in accordance with company EHS standards as well as all legislative requirements
  • Writes Work Permits for High Hazard and Hot Work
  • Follows, executes and updates Lock-Out-Tag-Out procedures as required
  • Perform basic electrical repairs and PLC troubleshooting
  • Ensures preventative maintenance tasks are performed according to schedule along with the Maintenance Technician
  • Visually inspects machines and equipment to locate causes of malfunctions.
  • Dismantles machines and equipment to gain access to problem area.
  • Inspects and measures parts to detect wear, misalignment, and/or other problems.
  • Removes and replaces worn or defective parts on equipment.
  • Realigns and adjusts components such as pumps, motors, drive couplings.
  • Locates damaged air and hydraulic pipes and measures, cuts, threads, and installs new pipe.
  • Assist/supports Production with starting up machines and equipment to test operation following repair to acceptable handover.
  • Performs maintenance to include but not limited to dismantle, inspection, repair and replacement of functional parts.
  • Cleans up area at the completion of maintenance and repair.
  • Perform other general facility maintenance tasks as needed
  • Take on any other duties which are within the employee’s skills and abilities whenever reasonably instructed
