About The Position

Florida SouthWestern State College is seeking a Maintenance Specialist II to join their team in Naples, FL. This role involves highly skilled work in the maintenance and operation of building automation systems, electrical systems, and mechanical equipment at FSW campuses, including the Suncoast Arena. The position is responsible for scheduling and performing repairs to assigned FSW buildings, ensuring proper campus maintenance. Additionally, this role will support the Maintenance Manager by providing work direction and oversight to Maintenance Specialist I employees.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Four (4) years full-time experience as a Journeyman level in the performance of maintenance, diagnosis and repair of commercial and/or industrial building systems to include at least two (2) of the following: Air conditioning, heating and ventilating systems; Mechanical systems and equipment; Medium to high-voltage electrical equipment.
  • One (1) year of supervisory experience.
  • Experience performing preventative maintenance activities and reading blueprints.
  • Must have EPA License or be able to attain licensure within first year of employment with the College.
  • Skills in the use of tools commonly used in air conditioning, mechanical and electrical fields.
  • Skilled in a variety of hand and power tools.
  • Customer oriented.
  • Ability to work evening, early morning and/or weekend hours as needed.
  • Proven ability to work independently, understand written and oral instructions, and clearly communicate.
  • Demonstrated experience using a personal computer, office software such as MS Office and electronic mail.

Responsibilities

  • Scheduling and performing immediate and future repairs to assigned FSW buildings.
  • Ensuring campus structures are properly maintained.
  • Providing work direction and oversight of assigned Maintenance Specialist I’s.
  • Performing preventative maintenance activities.
  • Reading blueprints.
  • Using tools commonly used in air conditioning, mechanical and electrical fields.
  • Interfacing with various levels of personnel from trade’s workers to administration.
  • Working independently.
  • Understanding written and oral instructions.
  • Clearly communicating.
