About The Position

M&M Industries is a U.S.-based manufacturer of plastic pails and packaging solutions. We operate in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where safety, reliability, and production uptime are critical to success. The Maintenance Specialist is responsible for the upkeep, repair, and troubleshooting of heat transfer label (HTL) machines. This role ensures HTL equipment operates efficiently, minimizes downtime, and maintains overall production quality. Additional responsibilities include preventative maintenance and identifying opportunities for improvement or automation within the HTL process.

Requirements

  • Able to read and understand electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic print schematics
  • Basic mechanical knowledge of pneumatic systems
  • Basic knowledge of low- and high-voltage electrical systems
  • Basic mechanical knowledge
  • Basic understanding of ladder logic and PLC functions
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. required
  • Three (3) or more years of experience in a maintenance role required
  • One (1) or more years of experience in PLC, HMI, or robotics programming required

Nice To Haves

  • Two (2) year degree or equivalent technical certification in Industrial Maintenance or Mechatronics preferred
  • Prior experience with HTL equipment preferred

Responsibilities

  • Follows safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment
  • Conducts regular inspections and maintenance of HTL equipment to ensure optimal performance
  • Performs scheduled preventative maintenance tasks
  • Maintains detailed maintenance logs and records of performed tasks
  • Diagnoses mechanical or electrical issues with HTL machines and takes corrective actions
  • Responds to breakdowns or malfunctions in a timely manner
  • Replaces faulty components (e.g., heating elements, motors, sensors) and performs repairs as necessary
  • Installs HTL machines and upgrades existing equipment using knowledge of automation and mechanical principles
  • Sets up machines for new production runs, including configuring software and hardware for label application
  • Maintains a clean and organized work environment in accordance with 5S principles
  • Communicates with production and other maintenance staff to identify machine issues and recommend solutions
  • Identifies critical spare parts
  • Performs all other duties as assigned
