About The Position

Labcorp is seeking a Maintenance Specialist – HVAC to join our team in Burlington, NC. This position may require night(s), weekend(s), and adverse weather. The role involves performing HVAC maintenance services and assisting with complex repairs primarily on HVAC equipment for LabCorp facilities. The specialist will serve as a work leader, working independently or with outside contract services, and may direct others in specialized repairs or PM procedures. This position receives a minimum amount of supervision and may provide work direction to others. Responsibilities include ensuring adequate supplies and equipment through inventory and PM schedules, performing specialized maintenance and service/repairs (electrical installations, heating/ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration), establishing and ensuring adherence to preventive maintenance schedules, maintaining heaters, water, gas, and drainage systems, installing, repairing pipes, fittings, and plumbing fixtures, researching, troubleshooting, and resolving problems related to equipment and facilities, maintaining appropriate files and records, and maintaining open lines of communication in assigned work groups.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent with 3 or more years of experience in commercial maintenance or HVAC.
  • Valid NC driver’s license and abide by LabCorp Fleet Driving Policy.
  • Understanding of most areas of General Maintenance (electrical, plumbing, and carpentry).

Nice To Haves

  • A.A.S. in Air Conditioning / Heating and Refrigeration OR Air Conditioning / Heating and Refrigeration Certification
  • 2 or more years of experience with industrial commercial chillers.
  • 2 or more years of experience with electronic control systems (Honeywell, or Alerton).
  • Ability to use scuttle ladders.

Responsibilities

  • Performs HVAC maintenance services and assists with complex repairs primarily on HVAC equipment for LabCorp facilities located within Alamance County and Guilford County.
  • Serves as a work leader working independently or with outside contract services
  • May direct others in specialized repairs or PM’s procedures.
  • Ensures adequate supplies and equipment through inventory and PM schedules in order to provide necessary supplies and equipment and maintain appropriate schedules.
  • Performs specialized maintenance and service or repairs i.e. electrical installations heating / ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration.
  • Establishes and ensures adherence to preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Maintains heaters, water, gas, and drainage systems for various facilities.
  • Installs, installs, repairs pipes, fittings and plumbing fixtures.
  • Researches, troubleshoots, and resolves problems related to repairs and/or modifications of equipment and facilities.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex maintenance problems.
  • Maintains appropriate files and records as required by LabCorp, department and various state and federal regulatory agencies.
  • Maintains open lines of communication in assigned work groups to ensure they are kept current.
  • Performs other tasks as directed by management.
