About The Position
The Maintenance Specialist II is responsible for performing work in the trades of electricity, carpentry, plumbing, and general maintenance with a high degree of proficiency. This role supports operations and property management within a residential setting, assisting individuals with disabilities while also performing commercial site maintenance when needed. The position requires the ability to troubleshoot, work independently, and utilize technology for work orders and expense tracking.
Requirements
- Two (2) or more years of experience in electricity, carpentry, plumbing, and general maintenance, or a license in one of these fields.
- Ability to perform physical labor with unrestricted ability to lift.
- A valid driver’s license and a driving record acceptable to the agency insurance carrier.
Nice To Haves
- High school graduate or an equivalency diploma.
- Experience in a multi-location and diversified maintenance setting.
Responsibilities
- Perform general maintenance and repair tasks including floor coverings, masonry, patching, painting, taping, drywall installation, downspout and shingle repair, and acoustical ceilings.
- Service HVAC and boilers.
- Assist with minor electrical and plumbing jobs according to code.
- Collaborate with Maintenance Specialist 3s and the management team on projects, taking direction and completing tasks independently with limited supervision.
- Troubleshoot issues on the job site and complete encountered tasks.
- Perform ground maintenance tasks as assigned.
- Utilize a tablet or mobile device with CMMS software to complete work orders, attach pictures, scan supplies, and check item history by scanning appliance and asset codes.
- Use an agency credit card and banking software weekly to add receipts and dollar amounts for purchases.
- Work in a residential setting to support individuals with disabilities in creating a safe and comfortable living environment.
- Assist in commercial site maintenance when needed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
