About The Position

The Maintenance Service Tech is responsible for maintenance of buildings and grounds, and troubleshooting mechanical problems for the Litchfield campus. This position also assists with oversight of other CJR properties as needed. Responsibilities include general repair of buildings and equipment such as drywall repair, painting, light plumbing, installing appliances, repairing equipment, and concrete repair. The role involves monitoring campus drainage systems, including underground piping and roof drains/gutters, as well as mechanical systems such as heating, fire alarm, sprinkler, and air conditioning systems. Additional duties include assisting with janitorial duties, preventative maintenance, snow removal (plowing, blowing, shoveling, sanding), working with outside contractors, pool water balance maintenance, generator testing with the Facility Manager, off-campus pick-up/deliveries, on-campus furniture/box moves, assisting with special functions, and performing other duties as assigned by the Supervisor. The technician will perform maintenance and repairs daily for CJR buildings and grounds.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ years of facility maintenance experience - Required
  • Experience in general building and grounds maintenance - Required
  • Ability to operate all types of grounds keeping equipment safely - Required
  • Ability to read, understand and comprehend shop service manuals pertaining to all grounds equipment/and ability to carry out service of equipment - Required
  • Valid driver’s license to utilize a company vehicle - Required
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
  • Ability to work overtime as required
  • Ability to supervise temporary help
  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds - Required

Responsibilities

  • General repair of buildings and equipment such as drywall repair, painting, light plumbing, install appliances, repair equipment, concrete repair, etc.
  • Campus drainage system monitoring including underground piping and building roof drains and gutters
  • Mechanical System monitoring, including heating systems, fire alarm and sprinkler system, Air Conditioning systems
  • Assist with general janitorial duties as req
  • Assist with preventative maintenance as required
  • Assist with snow plowing, blowing, shoveling and sanding.
  • Work with outside contractors as needed
  • Pool water balance maintenance as required
  • Perform generator testing with Facility Manager as needed.
  • Off campus pick-up/deliveries and on campus furniture or box moves.
  • Special functions (i.e. annual Golf Event and Open House).
  • Assist with on-call duties if needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
  • Perform maintenance and repairs as needed daily for CJR buildings and grounds.
