About The Position

The Seasonal Maintenance Worker performs a variety of support duties to assist the Maintenance Department during the summer months. This position focuses on groundskeeping, general facility upkeep, and completion of seasonal and annual maintenance tasks to ensure a safe, clean, and well-maintained environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

Requirements

High school diploma or currently enrolled student preferred.
Previous experience in maintenance, landscaping, or manual labor is helpful but not required.
Ability to perform physical labor, lift up to 50 pounds occasionally, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Nice To Haves

Valid Kansas driver's license preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Supports daily maintenance and groundskeeping needs as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor.
Performs routine groundskeeping duties including mowing, trimming, edging, watering, weed control, and debris removal.
Assists with seasonal landscaping projects, planting, and upkeep of outdoor spaces.
Performs basic facility upkeep tasks such as painting, cleaning exterior areas, minor repairs, and general maintenance support.
Assists with annual and seasonal projects such as deep cleaning, equipment maintenance, inspections, and facility preparations.
Transports supplies, and materials as needed to support maintenance operations.
Maintains tools and equipment in good working condition; ensures proper use and storage.
Keeps work areas clean, organized, and safe.
Assists with set-up and tear-down for events or departmental needs.
Reports maintenance issues or safety concerns to supervisor promptly.
Participates in training or safety meetings as required.
Performs all other duties related to the support and promotion of OCMH as assigned.
Adheres to dress code; maintains a neat and professional appearance.
Maintains regulatory requirements and follows all safety procedures.
Maintains employee and patient confidentiality at all times.
Reports to work on time and completes assigned duties within designated timeframes.
Wears identification while on duty and uses timekeeping system appropriately.
Represents the organization in a positive and professional manner.
