About The Position

Requirements

• At least 18 years old with three years of high school completed
• Any combination of grounds or maintenance experience
• Reliable, hardworking, and able to follow instructions
• Basic use of hand and power tools
• Ability to read and understand oral and written instructions

Responsibilities

• Support the care and upkeep of park grounds and athletic fields, including litter removal, turf maintenance, and assisting maintenance crews.
• Help keep Fort Wayne's parks safe, clean, and welcoming.
• Maintain turf, ball diamonds, athletic fields, and remove weeds, limbs, and debris.
• Assist various grounds crews and perform cleaning tasks in park facilities.
• Operate and maintain equipment safely, including one-ton or small utility trucks.
• Track and maintain work reports and records accurately.
• Use chemicals and cleaning products safely while following City safety policies.
