About The Position

The Maintenance/Sanitation Worker is responsible for light janitorial work, general building maintenance, and daily cleaning and sanitation of multiple Agency locations. People, Incorporated is a human service Agency serving the Southcoast community, including the Greater Fall River, New Bedford, and Taunton areas. Requirements

  • Ability to perform basic building and property maintenance
  • Ability to properly use cleaning equipment, hand tools and/or instruments, and cleaning agents and products
  • Ability to follow direction and work independently
  • Ability to work and communicate with others to provide immediate response
  • A qualifying criminal background check, driving record, and a valid driver’s license are required.

Responsibilities

  • Regularly check in with supervisor to report on assessments and receive general direction.
  • Complete items in assigned maintenance checklist every week.
  • Perform weekly inspection of items, including, but not limited to, smoke detectors, exit lights, and overall safety conditions.
  • Perform assigned janitorial work in accordance with an established schedule.
  • Perform and/or ensure seasonal property maintenance, including, but not limited to, snow removal, sanding, and de-icing, along with cleanup of parking lots and lawns, etc.
  • Pick up and/or transport supplies and equipment as needed.
  • Travel between Agency facilities as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Facilities Director, including, but not limited to, working weekends and/or holidays.
  • Participate in all staff meetings and required training sessions, including in-service training, as scheduled.
  • Maintain all program and Agency-required trainings.
  • Monitor and report major repairs or safety hazards to management.
  • Lock all doors/gates and secure building at the end of each shift.
  • Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies as needed.
