About The Position
The Lakefront Management Authority manages, controls, regulates, operates, and maintains any non-flood-protection facility, improvement asset, or function within a levee district within the jurisdiction of a flood protection authority. This position is responsible for maintaining the agency’s outdoor grounds by mowing and trimming grass, edging walkways, and clearing debris. The Grass Cutter operates lawn-care equipment safely and performs basic upkeep of tools. The role supports the overall appearance and safety of the agency’s property.
Requirements
- One year of experience or training in the building construction trades, building maintenance, maintenance or repair of mechanical equipment, or park operations and grounds maintenance; OR Six semester hours in construction management, construction technology, or engineering, or any combination of these courses.
Responsibilities
- Performs landscaping and grass cutting activities at airport facilities as needed.
- Picks up debris and tree limbs throughout the airport.
- Repairs fencing and light fixtures on airport grounds.
- Safeguards that the day-to-day maintenance required to ensure functionality and environmental compliance is performed.
- Assists with the maintenance and repairs of over 350 airfield lights and signs.
- Monitors landscaping and grass cutting activities at all facilities.
