About The Position

Southeast Airport Services, Inc. (SAS, Inc.) is seeking a reliable and safety-focused Maintenance Repair Technician 2 to support the maintenance, inspection, and repair of critical airport operational systems, including Baggage Handling Systems (BHS) and Passenger Boarding Bridges (PBB). This hands-on role supports both scheduled preventive maintenance and emergency response repairs within an active airport environment. Technicians work alongside experienced personnel to ensure operational reliability, regulatory compliance, and passenger safety while maintaining airport infrastructure. This position operates in secure airport operational areas and requires strict adherence to safety, security, and regulatory standards.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Three (3) years mechanical maintenance experience OR Three (3) years' experience supporting Baggage Handling Systems (BHS) or Passenger Boarding Bridges (PBB) OR Successful completion of a company mechanical aptitude assessment.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, overtime, and holidays.
  • Basic computer proficiency including email communication and completion of online training modules or maintenance reporting systems.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required Airport Security Badging.
  • Valid driver’s license required and must meet company insurability standards.
  • Must successfully complete pre-employment screening requirements consistent with airport security regulations.

  • Experience working in airport or transportation environments.
  • Experience with conveyors, automated sortation systems, or passenger boarding bridges.
  • Knowledge of HVAC, electrical systems, plumbing, or building maintenance.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive, routine, and emergency maintenance on baggage handling systems, passenger boarding bridges, and facility equipment.
  • Support troubleshooting and repairs involving mechanical, electrical, and operational components.
  • Clear conveyor system jams and perform shift inspections to ensure operational continuity.
  • Conduct cleaning, lubrication, and mechanical adjustments as required.
  • Assist in diagnosing equipment issues under direction of senior technicians or supervisors.
  • Read and interpret repair manuals, schematics, and maintenance instructions.
  • Complete required maintenance documentation and inspection records accurately and timely.
  • Participate in required safety meetings and training programs.
  • Operate safely within secured airport environments while complying with TSA, CBP, LAWA, and company requirements.
  • Maintain work areas in a safe and organized condition.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned based on operational needs.
