This position plans maintenance activities and reports directly to the Maintenance Manager. It is described as a career-path role in which team members gain experience necessary for maintenance management. The planner maintains SAP PM system data and reporting, analyzes information for maintenance planning and scheduling, and maintains and develops enterprise-wide best-practice preventive maintenance. The role reviews preventive-maintenance work orders against equipment history and recommends modifications to improve equipment reliability and maintenance labor utilization. The planner learns Universal Maintenance Standards to set reasonable task-time expectations and ensures new equipment is identified and labeled according to Tyson standards, with records kept current. Key Performance Indicators are used to provide fact-based feedback to the Maintenance Manager. The planner plans work according to required skill levels and safety training; reviews SAP data from other Tyson locations with similar equipment and reports findings and recommendations; and administers maintenance shift scheduling, work-order backlog, and planning for scheduled downtime, including parts availability. The position interfaces with engineering, local management, Operations Support, corporate departments, and outside entities as needed for special projects and CIR development. It also works with Operations Support to develop, track, and report appropriate information to management. A resume is required for consideration. Candidates currently working at the Council Bluffs Case Ready facility receive first consideration; if no candidate is selected there, applicants from other Tyson facilities will be considered. Travel is 1 to 5 trips per year. The successful candidate must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
