Maintenance Planner

NAES•Bremond, TX
•Onsite

About The Position

The Maintenance Planner supports safe, reliable, and efficient operations at the Walnut Creek Coal Mine, a surface lignite mining operation in Bremond, Texas. The role plans and coordinates maintenance for heavy mining equipment and associated systems, including preventive and corrective maintenance, equipment repairs, major maintenance projects, CMMS activities, spare parts, and contractor services. Working with Operations, Maintenance, mine leadership, and external providers, the position helps improve equipment availability, reduce downtime, and optimize maintenance performance. The role develops and maintains maintenance plans and schedules based on operational priorities, equipment condition, and OEM recommendations; coordinates major repairs, shutdowns, and projects; administers maintenance records and performance data; and supports reliability improvements through trend analysis and root cause investigations. It also coordinates equipment and systems maintenance, manages critical spare-parts inventory, works with contractors and vendors, and supports budgeting and cost-effective repair decisions while meeting safety and operational requirements. The Maintenance Planner reports to the Maintenance Manager and receives general direction from the Mine Manager. The position coordinates with plant personnel. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday on day shift, with extended hours, flexible shifts, weekends, holidays, and callout availability as needed. Some travel may be involved for offsite meetings. The position requires participation in a Fitness for Duty Program, including a post-offer physical examination, drug screening, and post-employment random drug screening.
