About The Position

Georgia-Pacific’s Gypsum Division is seeking qualified professionals for their Maintenance Planner opportunity to support the manufacturing operations at the facility located in Savannah, GA. This role engages in the plant’s safety culture and is a leader in risk management. The Maintenance Planner ensures maintenance work is planned proactively by ensuring all activities are appropriately scoped, estimated, and in a ready state prior to the start of work. They support the execution of work by planning, estimating, and staging/kitting parts for work orders, and validating parts are correct for work prior to kitting/staging. The role involves ongoing development and optimization of standard job plans, cataloging new parts, and submitting stock requests as needed for job plans. The Maintenance Planner effectively uses the CMMS to manage equipment data, update Bill of Materials (BOM) for assets, and develop standard maintenance procedures (SMP). They identify and recommend opportunities for improvements, maintain essential maintenance records and files, and scope work while assessing the requirements for routine, planned down day, and annual outage activities. The role also includes maintaining the work order kitting and staging areas, submitting work requests as needed, providing oversight for down day and outage work as needed, and working on-call hours as required.

Requirements

3 years maintenance technician experience
Previous experience working as a planner within a manufacturing, industrial, or military environment
Experience using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)
Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, MS Project)

Nice To Haves

Experience as a multi-craft technician with exposure to mechanical and electrical tasks
Experience in coordinating contractors
Experience as a maintenance or outage planner within manufacturing facility
Prior Gypsum experience

Responsibilities

Engage in the plant’s safety culture and be a leader in risk management
Ensure maintenance work is planned in a proactive method by ensuring all activities are appropriately scoped, estimated, and in ready state prior to start of work.
Support the execution of work by planning, estimating and staging / kitting parts for work orders.
Validate parts are correct for work prior to kitting / staging.
Ongoing development and optimization of standard job plans.
Catalog new parts and submit stock requests as needed for job plans.
Effectively use the CMMS to manage equipment data, update Bill of Materials (BOM) for assets, and develop standard maintenance procedures (SMP)
Identifies/recommend opportunities for improvements
