About The Position

The Maintenance Planner is responsible for scheduling preventive and regular maintenance with minimal interruption to production operations. This role is the principal contact and liaison between maintenance, production and other supporting departments in relation to determining the timing for execution of planned maintenance work. This position works to ensure that Production units balance their need for daily output with their need of equipment reliability through proactive maintenance practices. This is role is also responsible for effectively providing direction, plan, schedule, and prioritize work orders by allocating resources and managing multiple tasks.

Requirements

  • In-depth knowledge of packing and filling equipment
  • Demonstrated organization and delegation ability
  • Ability to organize and lead a team
  • Ability to physically inspect plant properties where climbing steps, ladders and physical exertion is a primary responsibility
  • Ability to effectively create and implement a maintenance plan
  • Minimum (2) year technical degree
  • Minimum (5) years’ experience in plant maintenance, food industry strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Organize and coordinate the Maintenance Department to repair and maintain the equipment in a cost-effective manner which promotes optimal production and operating efficiency
  • Helps identify repetitive problems, troubleshoot equipment and develop and implement solutions
  • Oversees condition-based monitoring to predict required maintenance before failure occurs
  • Coordinates investigations of critical failures and report findings
  • Estimates, plans, schedule and analyze plant maintenance work
  • Prioritizes and enters work orders
  • Assigns work orders to specific departments
  • Develops weekly repair schedules for the Maintenance Department
  • Develops short shutdown repair schedules
  • Prepares and documents preventive maintenance schedules for all equipment
  • Maintains and maximizes the utilization of the CMMS system
  • Ensures accurate information on work orders, what work is required, and what work was done for proper planning and accurate historical records
