About The Position

The Maintenance Planner is responsible for planning all work orders by analyzing them into basic job steps, determining the sequence of each step, and identifying necessary parts, materials, skills, special tools, and rental equipment. This role also involves obtaining drawings, sketches, specifications, and procedures as needed, estimating costs for work orders, and initiating and planning work orders for repairs discovered from preventive maintenance inspections. The planner will also develop standard work for recurring tasks and maintain equipment history records, including data from closed work orders, preventive maintenance checklists, drawings, and modifications. Additionally, the Maintenance Planner will serve as the Relief Maintenance Manager in the absence of the Maintenance Manager and requires adaptability and flexibility to work with all departments to achieve mill goals.

Requirements

  • Proficient in root cause analysis and trouble shooting.
  • Ability to identify when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong.
  • Ability to listen to and understand information and instruction presented through spoken words and sentences.
  • Pleasant with others on the job and displaying a good-natured, cooperative attitude.
  • Open to change (positive or negative) and to considerable variety in the workplace.
  • Professional training in mechanical or a related field, encompassing both traditional and/or non-traditional educational pathways. This training can include formal university degrees, technical certifications, and hands-on apprenticeships.
  • Clear communication (oral and written) skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Outlook Suite.
  • Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and back such as handling product.
  • Standing on feet and or walking throughout the entire work shift.
  • Ability to quickly and repeatedly bend, stretch twist, or reach out with your body and arms requiring flexibility.
  • Must be able to lift 40 pounds.
  • Diligently monitor work area for any potential safety hazards and react appropriately/efficiently to eliminate potential accidents.
  • Complete accident reports as needed, with support from the EHS Manager.
  • Support operations management team in safety program initiatives.
  • Safety toed and slip resistant boots/shoes when in production areas.
  • Safety glasses will be supplied and are required at all times in the production area.
  • Ear plugs required in ALL Production areas.

Nice To Haves

  • Some previous work-related skills, knowledge, or experience in a manufacturing environment preferred but not required if possessing appropriate skills.
  • Experience with FIIX a plus but not required.
